E-commerce web design

A shop built around how your customers buy.

We design and build online shops for businesses across Essex and beyond, shaped around your products and the people who buy them. Every shop is planned for a seamless customer journey, from the first search to a confident, straightforward checkout.

Behind the scenes, payments are handled securely by established providers, your products and orders are easy to manage, and the shop is built with room to grow as your range and your business expand.

The shopping journey

Five moments that make or lose a sale.

  1. Discover

Search-friendly categories and product pages help new customers find the shop in the first place.

  2. Browse

Clear navigation, filters and search make a catalogue easy to explore, on any screen.

  3. Choose

Product pages answer the questions that matter: imagery, options, delivery and returns.

  4. Basket

A tidy basket keeps costs and next steps visible, so nothing comes as a surprise.

  5. Checkout

A short, focused checkout asks only for what it needs and hands payment to a trusted provider.

What we design and build

Everything a shop needs to sell well.

Good e-commerce is more than a product grid. These are the parts we think about on every online shop.

  1. Online shop design

A shop designed around your brand, your products and the way your customers buy, rather than a template with your logo on it.

  2. Product discovery

Category structures, filters, search and related products that help customers find the right item quickly, however large the catalogue.

  3. Mobile-first checkout

Thumb-friendly baskets and checkouts with clear delivery information and as few steps as your business allows.

  4. Integrations

Connections to the payment, delivery, stock, accounting and marketing services your business already relies on, where your platform supports them.

  5. Speed and performance

Optimised images, lean templates and careful development keep product pages quick to load, especially on mobile connections.

  6. Search-ready foundations

Clean URLs, descriptive headings and well-structured category and product pages give search engines a shop they can understand.

  7. Easy to manage, room to grow

Add products, update stock and manage orders yourself, on a setup that can extend as your range and your business grow.

Mobile checkout

Checkout, designed for the phone in their hand.

Many customers browse and buy on a phone, so the basket and checkout are designed for small screens first and refined for larger ones.

  • Designed for thumbs

Large tap targets, readable type and buttons placed where they are easy to reach on a phone.

  • No surprises

Delivery options and costs shown early, so customers know where they stand before they pay.

  • Only what is needed

Forms that ask for the essentials, with sensible defaults and helpful error messages.

  • Payment you can trust

Payments handled by established providers, with the familiar options your customers expect where your provider offers them.

Integrations

Connected to the way you work.

An online shop rarely works alone. Depending on your platform and the services you use, it can connect to the tools that take payments, ship orders, track stock and keep customers informed.

Your shop
  • PaymentsCard and digital wallet providers
  • Delivery & shippingRates, couriers and labels
  • Stock & inventoryLevels kept in step
  • AccountingOrders into your books

  • AnalyticsUnderstand what sells

Every e-commerce project is individually quoted. The final figure depends on your catalogue, the features you need and the services your shop connects to, and is set out clearly in your quote.

Questions

E-commerce websites, answered.

How much does an e-commerce website cost?

Our e-commerce websites start from £3,500 + VAT. Every project is individually quoted, because the cost depends on things like the size of your catalogue, the features you need and the services your shop connects to. If you would prefer to spread the cost, we also offer pay monthly websites.

Which e-commerce platform do you use?

We build online shops with WooCommerce, which runs on WordPress and gives you a flexible shop you can manage yourself. It is not the only option, though: we will recommend the platform that suits your products, plans and budget, and explain why.

Will my online shop work well on mobile?

Yes. Every shop is designed responsively and tested on phones, tablets and desktops, with particular attention to product pages, the basket and checkout, where small screens make the biggest difference.

Can I add products and manage orders myself?

Yes. Your shop is set up so you can add and edit products, update stock and manage orders yourself, and we can talk you through how it all works. If you would rather hand some of that over, ongoing maintenance support is available.

Can my shop connect to the other systems we use?

Often, yes. Depending on your platform and the services you use, a shop can connect to payment providers, delivery and shipping tools, stock systems, accounting software, email marketing and analytics. We check what is possible for your setup while planning the project.

Will my online shop be optimised for search?

Shops are built with search in mind: clear category and product structures, descriptive headings, clean URLs and fast, mobile-friendly pages give search engines a well-organised site to understand. Search positions are never promised; for ongoing visibility work, see our SEO services.

Can you redesign our existing online shop?

Yes. We can review your current shop, keep what works and rebuild it as a clearer, faster and more modern experience, taking care over products, page addresses and redirects to protect existing search visibility during the move.
