Scrap my Car South East.

We designed and built a single-page website around one action: entering a vehicle registration to get a scrap quote. It is a custom build using Astro, Svelte, vanilla JavaScript and Tailwind UI, integrated with a DVLA lookup API.

Below the quote form, the page explains the service, including collection and paperwork, and lists the towns and cities covered across Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent and Surrey.

Key features

• Registration quote field. An ENTER REG field styled like a number plate sits in the first screen with a Get Quote button.
• Seven-day hours. Service hours, 7am to 10pm seven days a week, appear near the top of the page.
• Service checklist. Cars and vans bought for cash, paperwork completed and collection available, set out as a checklist.
• Areas covered. Towns and cities listed by county: Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent and Surrey.
• Phone and email in the header. Contact details sit at the top of the page on desktop and as icons on phones.

Design approach

The registration field borrows the look of a UK number plate, so its purpose is clear before reading a word.

One page and one action keep the process quick on a phone.

Yellow highlights in the headline echo the plate and keep attention on the quote.
